The classic itinerary
Fly in Friday afternoon. Round one at King Island Links to find your wind game. Saturday morning at Cape Wickham, afternoon at the Dairy. Sunday morning at Ocean Dunes, afternoon flight home. Three courses, two nights, a dairy stop and dinner booked before you fly. Leave enough room in the schedule for weather, conversation and the places that do not fit neatly into a package.

How many golf courses are on King Island?
Three: Cape Wickham Links and Ocean Dunes (both coastal resort courses opened in 2015), and the original King Island Links community course at Currie, which has been playing continuously since 1928.
How do I get to King Island?
Sharp Airlines operates 34-seat Saab 340 turboprop services from Melbourne (Essendon Fields and Moorabbin airports) — a 60-minute flight. Sharp also flies from Burnie in northern Tasmania. King Island has its own airport at Currie (IATA: KNS).
How long should a King Island golf trip be?
Three days and two nights is the most common itinerary, covering all three courses with at least one round each. Four days lets you replay a favourite, or fit in a cellar-door visit at the dairy and a half-day on the shipwreck coast.
What's the best time of year to visit?
March is the single best month — softer wind than summer, firmest fairways, longer daylight than autumn, and prices just below peak. October and November are the next best windows.
